Dr. Joyce Freedman

Dr. Freedman has been in practice for over 20 Years serving the Northern VA Area. She specializes in restorative and cosmetic dentistry including implants, veneers and crowns.

After completing her undergraduate curriculum at Mt. Holyoke College, Dr. Freedman attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She furthered her career by completing a two-year General Practice Residency in hospital dentistry at the University of North Carolina and at Oxford University in England where she worked with hemophilia and coagulopathy patients.

After completing her formal training, Dr. Freedman accepted a position with the VA Hospitals and ran their general practice residency program while teaching endodontics at Washington University in St Louis, MO.

She is an active member in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental society.

She resides in Northern Virginia, has two children, and enjoys photography, travel, Skiing, scuba diving and gardening.

Dr. Freedman is genuinely concerned about her patient’s dental health and has dedicated her career to providing her patients with the latest advances in dentistry.
 
Dr. Lezley McIlveen

Dr. McIlveen has provided exceptional patient care to the Herndon Community since 1996. Caring for Children has always been her passion and becoming a pediatric dentist has given her the opportunity to make a difference in many children’s lives, one smile at a time. It’s a privilege to watch her patients grow up in the practice, while giving them a beautiful smile and the confidence to care and maintain their teeth for a lifetime.

Dr. McIlveen attended the School of Dentistry at Queens University of Belfast in Northern Ireland. She completed her Residency and Masters Degree in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. During the early years of her professional dental career, Dr. McIlveen pursued a career in dental education and held positions at major medical facilities, such as Director of the Department of Dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center, Associate Professor at George Washington University, Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong and University of Tennessee and the Craniofacial Anomalies Team at the Children’s National Medical Center and INOVA Fairfax.

Dr. McIlveen is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS). Board of Directors Delta Dental Plan of Virginia, Executive Committee NVDS, State Delegate, NVDS and Regional Media Spokeserson, AAPD.

Dr. McIlveen regularly attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of advances and innovations in her specialty. By utilizing the latest techniques and materials, she strives to achieve the best possible outcome for her patients.
 
Dr. Zahra Hassantash DDS, MS

Dr. Zahra Hassantash has a passion for perfecting beautiful smiles. She recognized the value of orthodontic treatment when she was a teenager, when her own braces were removed and she saw the difference in her smile. Being able to create an attractive smile and a healthy bite for others is why she became an orthodontist.

Dr. Hassantash attended Indiana University School of Dentistry where she completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and graduated first in her class. She continued her education at Seton Hill University Center for Orthodontics where she received her Master of Science in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. While in school, Dr. Hassantash worked with the Seal Indiana Program, which provided access to dental care to childern who may not have otherwise received it.

When she is not at work, you can find Dr. Hassantash enjoying the outdoors on a beautiful day biking and hiking. She also loves to travel and experience the culture, cuisine and attractions of different places.
                 
         
 
Dr. Jennifer Raad DDS

At a young age, Dr. Jennifer Raad knew she wanted to help people, but it wasn’t until she shadowed her childhood dentist in high school that she realized it would be through dentistry. She has become passionate about the power of a smile and the importance of a healthy mouth to our overall health, and, through general dentistry, Dr. Raad has been able to help patients get out of pain, eat better, and smile more often!

Dr. Raad graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelors degree in Biology and Math and continued her education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her awards include elected member of Omicron Kappa Epsilon, Delta Dental’s Student Leadership Award, Pierre Fauchard Academy’s Undergraduate Certificate of Merit, and the Dean’s Community Service Award.

When she is not at work, Dr. Raad enjoys playing soccer and tennis, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
